On December 20, the X open expert conference of power engineers of Ural region “Problems of innovation in energy” was held in the building of the government of Sverdlovsk region. The conference was organized by the Ministry of energy and housing and communal services of the Sverdlovsk region.

This year the event was attended by 162 representatives of the fuel and energy complex organizations and universities of Yekaterinburg. In addition, students of 11 schools of the Sverdlovsk region joined the conference in the online broadcast mode within the framework of career guidance activities. The format of the conference traditionally involved an open discussion of its participants. Reports were made by:

  • Alexander Lemekh, CEO FutureLab, told about the history, problems and prospects of development of the CableWalker system for monitoring, maintenance and local repair of transmission lines.
  • Alexey Yushchuk, Director of Vireo energy LLC, shared the problems in the implementation of the project of generating plant on landfill gas.
  • Sergey Perminov, Director of ELTA LLC, outlined the necessary measures to support the introduction of mini-CHP on the basis of a small steam turbine.
  • Ilya Shevelev, head of the Department of IDGC of the Urals, revealed the possibilities and limitations of financing innovation.
  • Michael Belt, Deputy General Director for development, NPP “Ural laboratory of vibration,” said, what are the new technologies ensure the reliability of generating equipment.
  • Sergey Evdokimov, Deputy chief designer for service of steam turbines of Ural turbine plant, made proposals from UTZ for the development of modern energy.
  • Alexander Popov, Deputy Director of the Sverdlovsk region “Institute of energy saving”, spoke about RIAZ-matrix and resource conservation.

The result of the conference was the confirmation of the need for the transition of the energy sector of the Sverdlovsk region to an innovative stage that can improve the efficiency of the industry. The innovation stage assumes the possibility of solving the current problems of the region on a new technological, including digital basis.
