From 16 to 20 September in Dubai (UAE) resident of the Skolkovo FoundationFutureLab will hold a stage of the pilot implementation of the CableWalker system in Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). At one of the DEWA facilities, the developers will demonstrate the basic technology and software for diagnostics and maintenance of overhead power lines.

The precondition for the pilot project was the participation of the FutureLab in the Middle East Electricity exhibition in Dubai in March 2018. Here, the development has attracted the attention of representatives of power grid companies from two dozen countries, including UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Latin America.

“The pilot project with DEWA involves the first demonstration of the functionality of the CableWalker abroad and is an important step in the development of the project. Its results will open for us access to the world market”, – said Alexander Lemech, head of the  FutureLab.

After the pilot implementation in DEWA, the startup participants will organize an International industrial strategic session ”Automatic Maintenance of Electric Networks” (September 22-29) in Emirates Towers. The session will be held within the XV Ural youth energy forum ”Russia. Energy. Man. The choice of the way”.

“The purpose of the session is planning, organization and start of creating the system for automatic maintenance of electrical networks on the basis of the project CableWalker in 2018-2021. Also we plan to consolidate the Dubai venue status of the implementation of a comprehensive pilot project for testing promising models and market new grid practices on the basis of the project CableWalker,” shared Alexander Lemekh, head of the FutureLab.

The session will consist of group work, plenums and tests of the CableWalker system. The following representatives are invited to participate:representatives of power grid companies, companies developing technologies of diagnostics and maintenance of overhead lines, investors, innovative projects partners (from Russia and other countries), representatives of educational institutions, experts in the field of energy, HR and technologies, young politicians, young specialists of companies, personnel reserve of the power industry, representatives of the Russian Diaspora in the Middle East countries, representatives of civil services and local authorities, representatives of the Ministry of happiness, tolerance and the future of the UAE, students of educational institutions of Russia and the UAE.

One of the main objectives of the session will be to discuss the problems of small innovative enterprises in Russia and develop a strategy for their development on the example of the FutureLab.
